He was the son of Samuel L and Estella/Stella P Cosby Adams. He was known as Harry.

Harry married Catherine Elizabeth Young on May 31, 1923 in Hamilton Co, Ohio. They had no children.

He was gassed in Germany in World War I. He died of celebral hemmorage attributed to the gassing.

Indianapolis News, Tuesday, Oct 30, 1923:

Funeral services for James Harry Adams, age 30, who died Monday morning at the Deaconess Hospital following an illness of three weeks, will be held at the home, 2006 College Avenue, tonight at 8 o'clock. The Rev A L Skerry, vicar of All Saints Cathedral, will have charge of the services. The burial will be at Sprinvale Cemetery, Lafayettte, Wednesday afternoon a 1 o'clock.

Mr Adams, a plumber, was a former service man, and had served 22 months overseas with the 13th engineers.

Five months ago he married Miss Katherine Young, of this city. He is survived by his widow; his parents: Mr & Mrs Samuel L Adams, 1918 Ashland Avenue; and a sister, Grace Adams, of Indianapolis.
