Bennie Joe Harris, 67, of Milton died Saturday, November 9, 1996.
Mr. Harris was a native of Newton Co. MS. but had resided in the Milton area for the past 53 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Milton and West Pensacola Masonic Lodge # 296 F&AM. He was also a former member of the Milton Quarterback Club and the East Milton Water Board.
Mr. Harris was preceded in death by his father Blant Harris, and served in the Air Force during the Korean conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Crawley Harris, and mother Claudia Smith Harris; a daughter Delores (Dee Dee) Harris Hawthorne; five sons, C.B. Harris, Benji Harris, Shon Harris, John Harris of Milton; and Chuckie Harris of Pensacola; a sister Mary Alice Harris Rouhier of Milton; twelve grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. today at Milton Funeral Home-Helms Chapel with the Rev. Fred Rodgers, pastor of First Assembly of God Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Serenity Gardens Cemetery, Milton, Fl.
Pallbearers will be C.B. Harris, Benji Harris, John Harris, Chuckie Harris, Kenny Hawthorne, and Robert Freeman.
Honorary pallbearers are James Manning, B.M. Helms, Ray Helms, David Peacock, Jack Locklin, Claude Locklin, Winston Campbell, J.R. Lunsford, and Bit Melvin.
Milton Funeral Home-Helms Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation was at the funeral home Sunday.
