Mrs. Naomi Jane Morphew, 93, a former resident of Hunt Conty who lived in this area for many years, died in Dallas at 10:11 a.m. Friday. She had been in ill health for some time.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tidwell Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Tidwell Cemetery under the direction of the Sorrells and Sons Funeral home.
Friends of the family may call at the funeral home.
Mrs. Morphew, who resided at 5318 Minnett in Dallas, was born in July of 1870 in Anson, Ala. She came to Texas in 1895 and lived in Tidwell and in the Greenville area for 50 years. For the past 10 years she had mader her home with her daughter, Mrs. Alice Hanes, in Dallas.
She was a member of the Baptist Church.
In 1897 she married D. P. Gay and he died in 1906. She married T. W. Morphew in 1916 and he died in 1932.
Mrs. Morphew is survived by a son, Don Gay of California; a daughter, Mrs. Alice Hanes of Dallas; one brother, M. R. Ashley of Dallas; a sister, Sarah Sharp of Plainveiw, two granddaughters, one grandson, and 10 great-grandchildren.
