From about 1950 to 1956, Harry and his wife Elna who was a nurse, worked in Buckland for landscape artist Robert Strong Woodward. Harry had been a life-long resident of Northampton until that time.

Harry A Strong, Was Accountant
Amherst - Harry A Strong, 75, husband of Mrs. Elma [sic] (Eddy) Strong of 67 Amity St, formerly of Northampton, died in Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Northampton, on Monday. He was born in Northampton on Sept 16, 1887, the son of the late Andrew and Luna (Graves) Strong. He had resided in Amherst for the past seven years where he and his wife were in charge of the Old Strong House. Mr Strong had been employed by Foster-Farrer Co. of Northampton as an accountant for 32 years, retiring a few years ago. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Northampton. He had served as a deacon for 32 years and also held all of the offices in the church during his membership. He was a past president of the Northampton Credit Bureau and had been active in various community affairs.
Besides his wife, he leaves three daughters, Mrs. Edwin Rozwene of Amherst, Mrs Charles Norris of Westhampton and Mrs John DiRuzzo of West Concord; two sisters, Mrs Robert D Barnes of East Longmeadow and Mrs Orland Tucker of Springfield; five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. The funeral will be held at 2 Thursday in the First Baptist Church, Northampton. Rev Ralph Barnes, the pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Bridge Street Cemetery, Northampton. Memorial donations may be made with Harold Beastall at the Northampton Cooperative Bank. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are in charge of R D Newell funeral home Northampton.
