Rushville--Alfred Johncox, 85, a retired farmer, died last night in the Tompkins Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Thursday from the Congregational Church with the Rev. Charles B, Allnatt, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in the Macedon Center Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Friends may call at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Frank Gorton, his daughter and son-in-law, tonight and tomorrow afternoon and evening.
Mr. Johncox was born in Ontario the son of Louis and Emma White Johncox. He married Edith Sweet who died in 1954. He was a long time member of the Rushville Grange.
Besides Mrs. Gorton, survivors include three sons, Donald of Stanley, and Harold and Milton, of Rushville; two daughters, Mrs. Hubert Bowker and Mrs. Claude Gorton of Rushville; eight brothers and sisters, Mrs Robert Snell and Mrs. Charles Swartz of Rochester, Mrs. Horace Tweed and Mrs. Preston Kirtland of St. Petersburg, Fla., Vernon of Key Largo, Fla., Arthur of Lincoln, Chauncey and William of Canandaigua; 13 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the hemophilia Fund.
