Mr. Edward "Daniel" Jennings, son of the late Nell and Robert Jennings, left for his final resting place on June 15, 2008. He was born on Feb. 2, 1971.

Mr. Jennings served honorably as a police officer for the town of Beech Mt. He was known, loved and admired throughout Avery County as a man of compassion and integrity. His greatest love in life was his family and friends. His other great love was his career as a public servant, protecting the lives of many.

Dan's immediate remaining family members are a brother, Robert Hoyle Jennings; sisters, Sallie Jennings Woodring and Susan Jennings Huskins. Other family members include brother's-in-law, John Woodring and Thomas Huskins; nieces, Beth Hendron and Brittanie Woodring; nephew, Heath Jennings; great-nephews, Aaron and William Hendron; and his loving companion, Andrea Young. A host of aunts and uncles also survive.
