O.T. Bailey was born in Goose Neck Bottom, Platte Co, Missouri and married Mary M. Coffey there in 1898. He said that he went to Ohio to find her and brought back 98 lbs of Coffey! He was a wonderful man who was good as his word and handshake. He farmed in Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle and when he "moved to town" in Higgins, Tx, he still kept a cow, chickens and a horse for the grandkids to ride. He had a blacksmith shop and I remember the fire and anvil he used to make wagon rims and horseshoes. He lived to be 96 years old and was my grandfather.
