IDAHO FALLS _ Jeane Marie Abbott Franklin of Idaho Falls, died February 24, 1996, at Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center of a sudden illness.

She was born to Dr. William Richard and Verda Pace Abbott September 23, 1927, at the family farm in Rexburg, Idaho. She spent the next two years in Chicago, where her father completed his medical education and internship. They moved to Ririe, Idaho, and two years later to Idaho Falls.

She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1945 and attended Idaho State College for two years.

She was married to Leo H. Stavros in Idaho Falls in 1948. They were later divorced. In 1958, she married Jim Franklin, who was a classmate from her college years.

She will be remembered for her dry sense of humor and quick wit. Her love of family was equalled by her love for all of God's creatures.

She is survived by her husband; three daughters, Terry Stavros Felts and Kimberley Stavros Jacobson (Craig) of Idaho Falls, Sydney Franklin Purser (Phil) of Kennewick, Washington; one son, William Abbott Stavros (Linda) of Hailey, Idaho; one sister, Dona Abbott Bybee (Lowell) of Idaho Falls; three aunts, two uncles, and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.

In keeping with Jeane's love of animals, the family suggests contributions to the Tautphaus Park Zoological Society, c/o Mayor's Office, Box 50220, 83405.
