Funeral rites for Mrs. Laura S. Bennett, 93, former Providence woman, were conducted yesterday afternoon in the Date Street Baptist Church in Plainview. Mrs. Bennett died Tuesday morning in the Heritage Home in Plainview. She was the mother of Mrs. Joe McPeak of Plainview.
Mrs. Bennett was born in Hill County and resided in Floyd County from 1924 until 1940 when she moved to Hale County. Her husband, Opha Lee Bennett, died in 1945 in Plainview.
Survivors include three daughters, four sons, one sister, 12 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren.
Mr. Vernon McPeak, Floydad, was amoung those attending rites.
