Burnham- Doris M. (Swift) Bubar, 83, died, Saturday July 16, 2011, in Bangor. She was born in Pittsfield, Maine, on January 20, 1928, the daughter of Charles and Evelyn (Wing) Swift. She graduated from Maine Central Institute with the class of 1946 and married John E. Bubar on July 24, 1946.
Doris was employed as a stitcher at Northeast Shoe and SAS in Pittsfield for 30 years. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens and camping in Northern Maine. She loved spending time with her family, especially on the holidays. She was a strong, independent woman, who will be long remembered and missed by her family and friends.
She is survived by her children; Dean A. Bubar and his wife, Effie, of Madison, Tom Bubar, David Bubar, Linda L. Hunt, and Donald S. Bubar and his wife, Roberta, all of Burnham; her daughters-in-law, Rita Bubar and Donna Bubar, both of Burnham; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and her sister, Joyce Stewart of Eddington.
She was predeceased by her husband, John E. Bubar; a son, Edward J. Bubar; a grandson, Matthew A. King; and a brother, Charles (Sonny) Swift.
