John Henninger passed away at State Hospital in Pueblo, Colorado, August 7, 1938, at the age of 73 years, four months and seven days. Funeral services were held August 9, by Rev. Charles Hall of the Methodist Church, burial in Mt. View Cemetery, Pueblo.
Mr. Henninger came to Hamilton, Missouri, with his parents George and Emma Henninger, decreased, when he was but four years of age from Dauphin County, Penn. Here he grew to manhood and married Mary A. Craig. To this union three children were born, two daughters, Mrs. Anita Kennard preceded him in death and the other daughter, Mrs. Pryor Bell resides at Longmont, Colo.; a son Craig passed away fifteen years ago, and Mrs. Henninger passed to the great beyond eleven years ago.
John was well known in Hamilton as he resided here all his life until five years ago, when failing health caused him to go to the home of his daughter Mrs. Jennie Bell in Colorado. His health became so critical that he was taken to Greeley Hospital and later to Colorado State Hospital in Pueblo, where he passed away. Besides the daughter, he is survived by eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, all of Colorado; also several nieces and nephews in Hamilton. He was an uncle of Misses Almeda and Anna Kissinger and Mrs. Grant McCrary of this city.
