Gregory and his family were living in Benton, Arkansas, when he enlisted in the Marines 17 August 1967, at a recruiting office in Little Rock.
When Gregory arrived in Vietnam 6 March 1968, he was assigned to Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. The battalion was participating in Operation Charlie with Charlie Company operating in the vicinity of Hill 689 and 5 kilometers west of the Khe Sanh Airfield, when they were engaged by hostile forces. Gregory died as a result of multiple fragmentation wounds to the body from hostile mortar fire.
Survived by his parents, Wilford O and Adell P Reeves of 707 Crestwood Drive, Benton, Arkansas.
