Chester Maurice Aragon, 35, died Saturday in an automobile accident near Socorro.

Mr. Aragon was born in El Paso, Texas, and lived most of his life in Grant County.

He was a communicant of the Catholic Church, attended Catholic grade school, and graduated from Silver High School. He worked with his father, Maurice, for a few years before moving to Albuquerque to work construction.

Survivors are his parents, Sally and Maurice Aragon of Silver City; two sisters, Norma Billings of Silver City and Darlene Vigil of Silver City; one brother, Mickey Aragon of Albuquerque; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Gonzales of Silver City; two nieces; and two nephews.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, E.M. Aragon on Feb. 19, 1975 and Gertrude Aragon on May 11, 1987.

Rosary recitation will be held tonight at 7 in the Wheeler Funeral Home chapel. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the St. Francis Newman Center. Interment will follow in the Memory Lane Cemetery. The Rev. Bill Mayer will officiate. Serving as pallbearers will be Peter Cano, Manny Albert Granado, Danny Carbajal, Eddie Joe Diaz, Ray Gonzales and Steve Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be his cousins and friends. Arrangements are with the Wheeler Funeral Home of Silver City.
