Olga Hawronski Thompson, 88, of Lake Mills, Iowa, died March 24, 2011, at the Nora Springs Care Center in Nora Springs, Iowa.

Olga Thompson was born on August 15, 1922, in Belfield, North Dakota, the daughter of Ignot and Katie (Kordonowy) Hawronski. She grew up in Watford City, North Dakota.

In March of 1940, she married George Marlan Evenson at Fairview, Montana. This union was blessed with six children. Eventually, they moved to northern Iowa. George later died in a car accident in 1960.

In June of 1971, Olga married Clifford A. Thompson in Lake Mills, Iowa. Clifford passed away in 1981.

Olga worked at Deluxe Manufacturing and later for Fleetguard in Lake Mills for twenty-nine years. She loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren and enjoyed baking and spending time with her many friends. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills.

Olga is survived by her children: Dixie Kay Baker, of Mesa, Arizona, Delano (Kathy) Evenson, of Azle, Texas, Judy Ann (Dennis) Lechman, of Salem, Oregon, Marlin Evenson, of Hallandale, Florida, and James A. Evenson, of Mendota, Minnesota; her sisters: Josephine (Robert) Wehrung, of Watford City, North Dakota, and Mary Ann (Ralph) Walters, of Mesa, Arizona; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, David Thompson, of Watford, North Dakota.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George; her second husband, Clifford; one son, John A. Evenson; one sister Kathryn; three brothers: William, John and Anthony; and one sister, Kathy Thompson.

Only private family services are planned at this time. The Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 East Main Street, Lake Mills, Iowa 50450, is in charge of arrangements.
