Ellen Elizabeth Strawderman, 55, of 231 Back Creek Road, Gore, died Friday, Oct. 31, 1997, in Winchester Medical Center. Mrs. Strawderman was born June 24, 1942, in Clarke County, the daughter of Thomas W. and Annie Fowler. She was a seamstress and retired as a foster parent after 34 years. She was a member of Hebron Baptist Church in Gore. She married Paul Edward "Rawhide" Strawderman on Nov. 7, 1961, in Hagerstown, Md. Mr. Strawderman died May 8, 1994. Surviving are a son, Eugene Strawderman of Gore; two daughters, Susan Scroggins of Winchester and Hazel Dunn of Gaithersburg, Md.; a sister, Virginia Orndorff of Winchester; two brothers, Edward Fowler of Gainesboro and William Fowler of Berryville; nine grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren. A funeral will be at 11, a.m. Tuesday in Omps Funeral Home, with the Rev. George Reed officiating. Burial will be private in Olivet Cemetery, Moorefield, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
