He was born in Bismarck and educated at St. Mary's Grade School. In his youth he was a cowboy and then worked for Wachter's Transfer. He later worked at the Soil Conservation Service nursery near Fort Lincoln, retiring in 1959.
He married Helen Klain of Turtle Lake in 1923.
He leaves his wife; two daughters, and one son. There are eight grandchildren. He also leaves a brother and four sisters.
Mr. Jahner was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church where funeral services were held. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. Robert A. Feehan officiated and burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary was said at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Hall Funeral Home.
