E. J. Bennett, 65, died at 4:30 a.m. Saturday in the John Warner hospital of heart trouble. Funeral services will be held in the First Christian church in Clinton Monday at 2 p.m. Rev. H. B. Wheaton, pastor, will be in charge and burial will be in Memorial Park. Mr. Bennett, a son of Acquilla and Sarah Bennett, was born at Lane, February 2, 1872, and married to Miss Emma Bird, near Weldon, October 9, 1895. He is survived by his wife and two children, Minor C. Bennett of Lane, and Mrs. Grace Wantland of Clinton. He also has the following surviving sisters: Mrs. Julia Miller, Clinton; Mrs. Frank Smallwood, Amboy; Mrs. Rose Miller, Dewitt; Mrs Daisy Girard, Marna, and Mrs. Clara Bird of Denver, Colo. He was a member of the New Christian church at Lane.
