(January 18, 1920 - February 24, 2010)

Charles Basil Voss, age 90 of Brinton (Lake) went home to be with his Lord on Wednesday, February 24, 2010 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Clare. He was born January 18, 1920 to John H. and Tena (Letson) Voss in Coldwater Twp., Isabella Co., MI, where he was raised. On December 7, 1941 he married Millie Sheldon and they began their life together until her passing on November 3, 2002. Charles was a die setter at Ferro Manufacturing in Mt. Pleasant and retired around 1983. He enjoyed farming his land and sharing the produce from his gardens with his family. Charles favorite card game was euchre and was an avid bird watcher. He was a story teller and made several memories deer hunting with the grandchildren. Over the past few years he has found joy and has had some good times spending his Saturday nights at the Littlefield Outreach Center. Charles took pleasure in the simple things in life and taught his family to appreciate how beautiful "things" can really be.
He is survived by three sons who admire their father: Stuart (Roberta) of Weidman, Stephen (Cheryl) of Weidman and Stacey of Mt. Pleasant. Charles is the adoring grandfather of 8 grandchildren, 12 plus one on the way great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He is the brother of Tom Voss of Lake and has numerous nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his wife he was preceded in death by 2 grandsons; Chuckie and Jeremy, 6 brothers and sisters; Annie McClung, Farrond "Ping", Gwendolyn Thompson, John "Doyle", Christina Singleton and Bob in 2009.
Funeral services for Charles will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at the Daggett Funeral Home in Barryton with Pastor Dave Butler officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at North Brinton Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday at the Funeral Home. Memorial donations in Charles name can be given to Littlefield Outreach.
