"Walter Baker who was killed by lightning near Amber last week was born at Ardmore, Oklahoma, thirty-four years ago. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Baker who both survive him. He was married to Miss Effie Stephens of Purdy, Oklahoma. He was a member of the Missionary Baptist church and a deacon in that organization. He was also a member of the W. O. W. and the odd Fellows lodges. He had lived at Amber for the past eight years and was held in the highest esteem...He leaves a widow and two children to mourn the loss..."
