Goldie was born October 29, 1896 to George and Nancy Bard Minick near Saluvia, Fulton County. She married Harry Blessing in Mount Union on June 5, 1917. They had three children, Guy Minick Blessing, Robert Harry Blessing, and Helen Nancele Blessing.
Goldie had one brother and two sisters, Guy Wilson Minick, Edna Deborah Minick, Martha May Minick Fields. Edna died, unmarried, of typhoid fever in 1915.
