Born in Rockdale,he had done farming in this area for 13 years, and was a member of Call Junction Baptist Church.
The Rev. Billy Bridges, Baptist minister of Needville, and Rev. R.C. Hammock, pastor of Call Junction Baptist Church conducted funeral services Sunday afternoon in E.E. Stringer Funeral Home chapel. Burial was held at Ebenezer Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Zada Grimes Brown of Kirbyville; two sons, J.C. Brown and Clayton Brown of Kirbyville; four brothers, Arthur Brown Sam Brown, Payton Brown and Calvin Brown, all of Rockland; two sisters, Mrs. George (Idell) Pillars of Apple Springs and Mrs. Emma Hensley of Woodville, and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers were R.L. Hinson, Bobby Jack Hinson, Robert Hinson, J.R. Jenkins, James H. Brown, and George A. Pillars
Preceded in death by son Paul Jefferson Brown.
