Born the seventh child of his parents, Joseph and Zana Aurilla Fish Rau. He graduates in 1935 from Stanley High School. On November 29, 1944, Cecil A. Rau marries Pauline McDowell at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. They have three kids together. "Pete" Rau farmed in the Arlington area for many years and also was the caretaker for the Taylorsville Cemetery. Cecil Arthur Rau dies in 1995 at age 78.
