Miss Sidney Freeman passed away at her home in North Hopewell Sunday morning at 2 o'clock, after an illness which lasted for some time; but she was only bedfast a little over one week. Dr. Coggshall of Henry, and a nurse from Peoria, did all that they could for her but to no avail. She was 71 years of age and had been quite feeble of late. She lived alone on her farm with the exception of Charles Walker, who farmed her land for her. She leaves to mourn her loss one brother, Samuel Freeman, and one sister, Mrs. J. M. Gustafson. One sister, Mrs. John Gluntz, died last spring. Miss Freeman was laid to rest by the side of her sisters in the cemetery near Ed Lane's. The funeral took place Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock. Mr. A. B. Smith of Henry, was funeral director.
Edward Freeman, who was visiting friends near Gibson City, came home Monday to be present at the funeral of his aunt.
