Abby Rose Aukerman , 24, of Winchester Drive, Wakefield, died yesterday at South County Hospital.
Born in Westerly, a daughter of William G. Aukerman of South Kingstown and Pamela Johnson of Bedford, Va.
She worked in pharmaceutical production for the Wyeth Pharmaceutical Division of American Home Products Co.
She was a 1993 graduate of South Kingstown High School and a 1998 graduate of the University of Rhode Island, with a bachelor's degree in marine biology.
She had also been a laboratory worker for the Narragansett Bay campus of the University of Rhode Island. She was formerly a waitress at the Coast Guard Restaurant. She enjoyed gardening.
Besides her parents, she leaves a sister, Amy S. Aukerman of Germantown, Md.; paternal grandparents, Robert C. and Louise R. Aukerman of South Kingstown. She was granddaughter of the late W. Andrew Johnson and the late Roberta Tourgee Johnson.
A funeral service was held Friday in the Peace Dale Congregational Church, 261 Columbia St., South Kingstown.
