Osborn of Rockingham, North Carolina, and his mother is Susan Dalton of North Carolina.

Marshall Ney Osborne was the son of Dr. Thomas M and Susan (Dalton) Osborne last living in Knoxville, TN though were both born and raised in NC. His parents were married in Yadkin Co., NC and living in Forsyth Co., NC for 1880 census and next found in Knox Co., TN for 1900 census where Marshall was listed as marble polisher at the Evan Marble Co. He then was employed by the Southern Railway for the next few years before being found in MO where he was drafter in 1919. After marriage to his wife, Ella Ayers, he was engaged in general farming.

No burial records have been found for his parents though death records are found. DNA testing has been done that determines that Marshall Ney Osborne descends from Richard Osborn b. 1612 in London, Middlesex, England and d. 19 Oct 1684 in Westchester, Bronx, New York. He was the grandson of Marshall (FindaGrave # 55554514) and Sallie Osborne of NC. He was also grandson of Don Ferdinard and Amanda Jane (Doub) Dalton of NC.
