Gabriel is not listed with them and there are no records as to what had happened to Gabriel. On April 8, 1896, Mary Bowerman filed for a Civil War widow's pension. Mary is buried in the Haynesville Cemetery in Pratt Co., Kansas. Also buried in that cemetery is George Bowerman, son of Michael and Mary Tarwater Bowerman. Burial place of Mary's husband, Michael, is unknown.
