Mrs. Matilde Ortiz Alires died in her home in Central Wednesday, July 9.She was 8O years old and, a lifelong resident of Grant County. She was born on the Mimbres River at San Juan. Survivors include here husband, Santiago Alires, Central; two daughters Mrs. Esther Telles, Las Cruces, and Mrs. Alex Parra, A1amagordo; a brother, Luis Ortiz, Silver City; eight grandchildren. Rosary services were held last Thursday In Cox Mortuary Chapel with the Rev, Henry Saxon officiating. The body was taken to the family home to lay in state until funeral service Saturday in Santa Clara Catholic Church in Central. Burial was at Central.
