Jo Lewis, age 37, died at her home in Water Valley, MS on Friday, July 8, 2011. She was born in Water Valley, MS on October 17, 1973 to Donald Joe and Brenda Winters Henderson. Jo worked as a teacher's assistant in the Lafayette County School System. She loved sports, especially softball and enjoyed playing in the Water Valley High School Band. She loved to fish. Jo was a member of the Water Valley Jr. Auxiliary and an active member of the American Cancer Society. She was a member of O'Tuckolofa Baptist Church in Water Valley, MS. She loved spending time with the elderly and working with children. Jo loved her family and especially her young daughter, Edee.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 11, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley, MS. A graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at 10:00 AM in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley, MS with Bro. Dan Dickerson officiating.
Jo is survived by her daughter, Eden Grace "Edee" Henderson of Water Valley, MS; her parents, Donald Joe and Brenda Winters Henderson of Water Valley, MS; two sisters, Glenda Gordon and Melinda Grimmett (Michael) both of Water Valley, MS; her grandmother, Dorothy Lowry of Water Valley, MS; two nephews, John Michael Grimmett and Mackenzie Gordon both of Water Valley, MS; and her boyfriend, Brandon Wilburn of Water Valley, MS.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Lonnie Henderson and Ray Winters.
