Mary's mother died when she was 4 years old. Her father remarried and they lived together with her paternal grandparents Charlie & Jenny LeFavor. He father moved to WA and she and her siblings were raised by her LeFavor grandparents in East Grand Forks. The boys all joined the military while Mary & her sister Bette went to work before marrying.
Mary was married twice, 1st to Darrell Stave, they divorced. They had 4 children. In 1968 she married Leonard Kropuenske in Codington County, SD. A few years later they divorced. They had one daughter. There was also a baby (said to be a boy) born between her marriages that she gave up for adoption.
From her obituary it says she was a cook & dietary aide at Brookside Manor where she was living at the time of her death.
