Mrs. James Carmichael died suddenly at 9 o'clock Wednesday evening at her home four and a half miles northeast of Villisca, her death resulting from apoplexy.
She had gone up stairs to get some medicine which she had been taking for nervousness and just as she reached the foot of the stairs she fell unconscious to the floor. She was dead when members of her family reached her side.
She was born in Ohio and came to Iowa in 1881, settling near Bedford. She was married to Jas. Carmichael at Bedford on November 13, 1906. She was a member of the M. E. Church.
Funeral arrangements had not been completed at the time The Review went to press, awaiting arrival of relatives. It was though, however that it would be held Saturday. It will be at the Methodist Church with Rev. J. L. Boyd in charge.

Our hearts were filled with sorrow when the people of the neighborhood heard that one of their neighbors, Mrs. James Carmichael had passed away Wednesday night of last week, about 9 o'clock. She had been in good health for several years but seemed to worry more about her failing eyesight. She has consulted several eye specialist but all seemed to tell her the same, and she felt she might some day lose her sight entirely. She was able to attend to her household duties, and Wednesday afternoon and evening she was feeling well and in good spirits. About nine o'clock she went up stairs to bed and soon afterward the other members of the family also went up stairs to bed. She then complained about being short of breath, like she had been several times before when she had one of those spells. Her husband wanted to go down and get her medicine, but she said she would go. She had to go down and get her medicine and a spoon, when she was stricken. Her husband heard a noise and hurried downstairs to find her lying on the floor dead. Mrs. Carmichael will be greatly missed, not only in her home, but in the neighborhood. She was kind and thoughtful of the sick, always willing to do all in her power for anyone who needed help. She was a member of the Happy Hour Club, and when she could be with us enjoyed the meetings so much, and when there was work of any kind at club to do she was always willing to do her share. We too shall miss her. We joint her host of friends who extend their sympathy to the family and friends.
