Sigel Krout, a brother of Mrs. T. A. Brooks of this city, died in a hospital in Maryville, Mo., Sunday, Jan. 16, 1921, of pneumonia. The remains were brought to Clarinda Tuesday evening. Interment was in Clarinda cemetery yesterday morning. A prayer was said at the grave, by Rev. J .M. Williams. The late Mr. Krout was a resident of Clarinda many years ago. Besides by his sister, Mrs. Brooks, he is survived by another sister, Mrs. J. E. Corwin, of Portland, Ore., and a brother, Lewis Krout. CLARINDA JOURNAL, Clarinda, Iowa, Jan 20, 1921

Siegel Kraut
The earthly remains of a former Clarinda resident, Siegel Kraut, were brought home on Wednesday, January 19th for interment in the Clarinda cemetery. Mr. Kraut breathed his last on Sunday, January 16th at the hospital in Maryville. He was the brother of Mrs. Tom Brooks, who has thus been called on to lay away two loved ones inside of a week, both brother and husband. Seigel Kraut lived here as a boy but has been away for some time, recently in Omaha. He was the son of William Kraut. CLARINDA HERALD, Clarinda, Iowa, Jan 27, 1921
