HAUGHTON, LA. - Services for Mr. Joel Ivan Brazzell, Sr., will be held in the chapel of Boone Funeral Home, Thursday, November 21, 2002 at 10 a.m. Officiating the service will be Rev. Gene Gibson of Beulah Land Baptist Church. Graveside services will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, near Pineville, LA., on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m.

Mr. Brazzell passed away November 18, 2002 in Marietta, GA. He was born on February 4, 1923, in Georgetown, LA. Mr. Brazzell served our country in the Army during WWII.
He fought in the Battle of the Bulge, Battle for the Rhineland and Battle for Central Europe. Mr. Brazzell served in the 142nd AAA gun battalion and was awarded three Battle Stars along with the WWII Victory medal. He was an elder and faithful member of Beulah Land Baptist Church and loved gardening.

His wife, Audie Mae Brazzell, along with his parents, Joe and Ann Brazzell, and eleven brothers and sisters preceded him in death. Surviving him are his children: Joel Brazzell Jr. and his wife, Evelyn, Pamela Schwan and her husband Henry; grandchildren: Wendy Nielsen, Melissa deMarigny, Michelle Taylor, Dale Schwan and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dale Schwan, Scott Nielsen, Scotty Nielsen, Robert Taylor, Vic Lara and Sammy Grafton.

In lieu of flowers you may make donations in memory of Joel Brazzell, Sr. to the Beulah Land Baptist Church.
