Billy James Farmer, Sr. of Huntersville NC died July 13, 2010 at Carolinas Medical Center with his loving family by his side. Born May 27, 1930 in Charlotte, NC, he was a son of the late William James Farmer and Annie Belle Shute Farmer. He was a graduate of Thomasboro High School and retired as Manager of the Auto Department of Continental Insurance Company in 1989. He was a veteran of the US Airforce. A member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder and Deacon and was a member of the Mary Garmon Sunday School Class. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and brother, loved NASCAR, the Braves, fishing and loved his Lord Jesus Christ. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Katherine Allison Farmer; sons, Jimmy and wife Jenny, Gary and wife Jennifer; daughter, Allison and husband Tom Laciano; grandchildren, Wil, Justin and Aidan Farmer, Sophia, Zachary and Seth Laciano; sisters, Inez Brownlow of Myrtle Beach SC, Frances Bridges of Monroe, NC and Carol Peeks of Rock Hill, SC; brothers, Bobby Farmer of Niceville, FL, Tommy Farmer of Valpariso FL and Gerald Farmer of Shallotte NC. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Henry Farmer. Funeral services were conducted at Hopewell Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
