Louis and Ellen moved to Battleford to live with their oldest son Roderick and wife Cirsala early in the 40's.
Louis died April 6th, 1945, at the age of 88 years. Ellen Harriet Caplette died May 7, 1945.

Louis Caplette, was born in Manitoba near Winnipeg in 1857, Educated in a Catholic School and for a time, was considered quite well educated. His Uncle Charles Bremner was illiterate and hired Louis when young to help in his store. When Bremner moved West in 1872, Louis at 15 years went along.
During the 1885 Rebellion, Louis then 20, was swept up by Poundmaker first, then jailed in Battleford for a short time.
Two years after the Rebellion, Louis married Ellen Bremner, his bosses daughter. He did the book work and accounting for Charles Bremner's Freighting business from Winnipeg and the General Store and Fur trading business in Bresaylor.
Louis purchased a homestead close by in Dalmas, Saskatchewan, where he and Ellen raised eleven children, seven boys and four girls.
In later years Louis and his wife Ellen with children, Walter, Edgar and Lily moved to Rod's dairy farm near Battleford, Saskatchewan.
Louis and Ellen both died at the dairy farm, just months apart, and are buried in the Battleford Cemetery, over looking the North Saskatchewan River.
