LAYTON – Mary Knowlton Christensen, 87, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, August 10, 2007.

Mary was born May 23, 1920 in Layton, Utah to Franklin Richards and Edwina Whitesides Knowlton. She married Jerome J. Christensen on September 10, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Together they raised their family in Ogden, Utah. After Jerome passed away on August 3, 1991, Mary returned to live in Layton where she was surrounded by the love of her siblings.

Mary was active and devoted to her LDS faith, where she served in many callings. She was also actively involved serving in many volunteer organizations.

Mary is survived by her children, Kent (Linda), Salt Lake City; Culley (Jane), Scottsdale, AZ; Scott (Kim), and Bradd (Joan) also of Salt Lake City; 15 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers Franklin (Joy) Knowlton and Richard (Marlene) Knowlton, Layton; Ute (Gail) Knowlton, Kaysville; and sister, Martha Brooke, Layton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, and sister, Esther Graehl.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 15, 2007 at 11 a.m. at the Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Rd. Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 10:00 to 10:45 prior to the service.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
