Died at Rochelle Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Rochelle. Daughter of Frank Acel and Mary Alice (Williamson) Beardin. Married Donald Roy Gentry in 1939 and he was killed in action during WWII in 1945. Also preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Al, Lee, John and Winnie Beardin; and sisters: Imogene Mattera, Fern Casey and Bernice Spears. In 1947, Katie married Lloyd Stroud Jr. Survived by her husband, Lloyd of Rochelle; son and daughter-in-law; daughter and son-in-law; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 14, 2011 at 10:30AM, at the First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle. Visitation will be at First Presbyterian Church in Rochelle on Wed. July 13th from 5 to 7 PM. Cremation rites arranged by Unger-Horner Funeral Home in Rochelle. Inurnment at Trinity Memory Gardens.
