Arthur "Art" Woolard, 76, of 238 Franklin St. died Sunday, Aug. 6, 1995, at his home.

Born March 20, 1919, in Havana to Frank and Sophia Hayward Woolard, he married Dortha "Dot" Logsdon on March 27, 1947, in Peoria. She survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Delmar of San Jose and Arthur Jr. of East Peoria; one daughter, Bonnie Smith of Peoria; 14 grandchildren, including two who were raised in their home, and Danny R. Woolard and Mark L. Wollard, both of East Peoria; 24 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elizabeth Rhoades of Toulon and Lorraine Lowery of Chillicothe.

He was preceded in death three brothers, one son, one grandson and one great-granddaughter.

He worked for Caterpillar Inc. for 31 years, retiring in 1977. He was a member of United Auto Workers Local 974. He was a teacher's aide at East Peoria High School.

A World War II Army veteran, he served 39 months in the Asian area.

He was a Boy Scout leader for Troop 27 and also was involved in a summer recreation program at Fondulac Park District.

He was a member of Bayview Baptist Church in Washington.

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens in Peoria.
