Jesse Leon Fowler

Jesse Leon Fowler, 68, of Colmesneil, Texas, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at his residence.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 27, at 3 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Woodville with burial in Gregory Cemetery near Colmesneil. The honors of the flag was conferred upon the family by members of the V.F.W. Post #2033. Masonic rites were offered by Yellowpine Lodge #679. Officiating at the services were Brother Durl Patrick and Brother Larry Dondren.

Serving as pallbearers were Billy Fondren, Mack Anthony, Wade Skinner, William Jacobson, Buddy Fondren and Joe Marshall.

Visitation was held on Monday, March 26 from 5 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Fowler was born August 30, 1932 to Smith and Zemma Fowler in Colmesneil. He was a lifelong resident of Colmesneil and was a former Tyler County Commissioner and Sheriff. He was a member of Yellowpine Masonic Lodge #679, VFW Post #2033 and Katy Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife Thelma Jean Fowler of Colmesneil; daughters and sons-in-law, Rhonda Gail Payne, Glenda Rene and Billy Snider, and Gina Denise and Chastyn Graham of Colmesneil; sisters, Evelyn Mahan of Colmesneil, Arnice Spence of Houston, Nell Fuller of Woodville and Helen Craven of Emilee; six grandchildrenJustin Wayne and Heather Diane Mitcham, Bridgette Danielle Snider, William Brandon Snider, Jesse Marcus Payne, Haley Jean Rains, and Hannah Leigh Guillory; one great granddaughter, Alicyn Diane Mitcham.
