Mother Of Local Residents Dies In Henderson
HENDERSON.—Final rites were held Thursday in Joaquin for Mrs. Rosie Magaline Childress, who died Wednesday night at Henderson Memorial Hospital following a week's illness. She was born Oct. 5, 1876, in St. Augustine.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. D. W. Carter of Henderson, Mrs. W. J. Duncan of Gladewater and Mrs. H. E. Reeves of Henderson; two sons, Elbert Childress and Edward Childress of Kilgore; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Leonard Emmons of Center, Felix Emmons of Converse, La., and Ike Emmons of Logansport, La.; three sisters, Mrs. John Mitchell of Bronson, Mrs. H. Seago of Nacogdoches and Mrs. Carroll Permenter of Crosby.
Services were held at the Jackson Baptist Church in Joaquin with interment at the Jackson Cemetery. Rev. L. L. Pruitt of Henderson was assisted in conducting services by Rev. T. H. Honea.
