Mellie Reeves had her first two children by a man who her father did not want her to live with.
She evidently never married him and Mellie came back home and to live with her parents. We have have been told his name but it is just hearsay, not proven or confirmed by DNA, yet. The children, William B. and Mattie Annabelle, always went by Mellie's maiden name of Reeves. The information on Mattie's Certificate of Death lists her father as William Reeves but this is not correct.

On Oct 18, 1903, Mellie married Frank Fain. They had 4 daughters together; Gladys, Mildred, Marie, and Freida.

We are pretty sure this is her grave, even though they spelled her name as Nellie and her birth year is 4 years before we knew it to be. However, she is buried by her parents, Hiram Peter and Matilda Reeves and the date of death matches the one we think to be correct.

If anyone has further information on this, please let me know.
