WILMINGTON - Samuel Abraham Haddock, 91, a resident of Jacksonville, NC, from 1943 to 1996, passed away April 4, 2003, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, NC. He currently resided with his son in Wilmington.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Annie Eason Haddock who died November 25, 2000. The surviving family includes his daughter, Betty Jean Haddock of Fountain; sons, Samuel Parker Haddock and wife Nancy of Wilmington and William Abraham Haddock and wife Barbara of Bowie, MD; sister, Susie Haddock Eason of Kinston; grandchildren, Brian M. Haddock, Jennifer H. Sober, Parker E. Haddock and Brandon Y. Haddock; a great-grandson, Griffin W. Sober; and very dear friend, Dorothy L. Merrow.
Funeral services will be held 4:00 p.m. Sunday, April 6, 2003, at the chapel of Taylor-Edwards Funeral Home, 117 NW Third St., Snow Hill. Reverend Claire Clyburn of Calvary Memorial United Methodist Church will officiate the service. The family will receive friends immediately following.
Committal services will be held privately in the St. Barnabas Cemetery at a later time.
