Houston was a construction worker by trade and did numerous other jobs. His favorite job was keeping up with his wife, kids, and grandchildren. He loved softball, hunting, fishing, and any sport you could name. If his grandchildren had a ball game, you could bet that Houston would be there to cheer them on. Houston was a man of integrity; no one was ever turned away from his door or his table. Anyone needing a meal or a place to rest was sure to find a welcome at Houston's house. He was always willing to lend a hand in the community and helped to host numerous hog fries for people in the Oaks Community. He was quick witted with a wonderful sense of humor, which he used on his friends and his grandchildren, teasing them every chance he got. He was known as the neighbor who put the coffee on and would welcome the neighbors for a 3:00 a.m. cup of joe and some great conversation. Houston was a Christian by faith. The Lord called Houston to his heavenly home on July 9, 2011, at his home in Oaks with his wife and family at his side. Houston was 77 years old. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, and all his friends at the various ball games, including the Running Dawg's ball team.
Houston was preceded in death by his parents and twelve brothers and sisters: Elizabeth, Annawake, Mentha, Ruby, Pearl, Hiawatha, George, Avery, Thomas, Lewis, Audrey, and Silas Foreman.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife JoAnne of the home in Oaks and his children: Marcella Foreman and Russell Van Buskirk of Oaks, Alan Foreman and wife Barbara of Kansas OK, Travis Foreman and wife Felicia of Oaks, and Trampis Foreman and wife Linda of Oaks. Houston's legacy will live on in his 10 grandchildren: Tanisa Foreman and Jimmy Alarcon, Jacob Foreman and wife Krysten, Jerrid Foreman and Deanna Adair, Travis Houston Foreman, Jr., Allyson Foreman, Arielle Foreman, Chad Foreman, Kianna Foreman, Brianna Conness, Kimberly Conness, and Chase Fine. Houston also leaves four very special great-grandchildren: Jacob Foreman II, Eliza Foreman, Keilaunna Foreman and Dryden Pilcher; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of friends and loved ones.
