Doc is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Mary Beth, whose gentle spirit and love sustained him throughout his life. He is also survived by two sons, Michael Guy and wife Susie, and Andrew Guy; two daughters, Diane O'Neal and husband Ron, and Suzanne Guy; 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Marie Tomlinson and husband Bill, and Sue Ethridge and husband Billy. He was preceded in death by his brother, Shaw Guy.
A lifelong resident of Kirbyville, Texas, Doc was born Nov. 8, 1930 to Allen and Irma Guy. After graduating from Kirbyville High School in 1948, he attended Texas A&M University and earned his in BBA in 1952. His passion and love for Texas A&M was evident to all who knew him. He went on to become a successful businessman owning C.R. Guy Insurance Agency for 45 years.
Doc was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ. He was also active in the community including a longtime membership in the Lion's Club where he was club president and chairman of the annual 5K run. He was past president of both Kirbyville Chamber of Commerce and American Cancer Society. He also served as a Boy Scout Leader, volunteered with the Kirbyville Fire Department and taught G.I. School.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Kirbyville Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at the funeral home.
