Josephus Collins, a well known and life long resident of Rose, died Wednesday morning at the age of 78 years, at his home three miles east of that village. The immediate cause of death was an attack of the grippe. He was a charter member of the Rose Free Methodist church, organized in 1861. He leaves his widow, one daughter, Ida, wife of Rev. Benjamin Winget, of Chicago; one son: Dr. Newton Collins, of Rochester; and one sister, Mrs. Stephen Kellogg of Rose.
