Mrs. Jane Childs, 94, Hamlet, died at 10:20 a.m. Tuesday in the Starke Memorial Hospital, Knox, following an illness of two years. She was born Oct. 19, 1866 (1867), in Ohio and spent the past 82 years in the Hamlet area coming from Missouri. On May 17, 1890 she was married in Joliet, Ill., to Ashley A. Childs. He died Jan. 22, 1922. Church affiliations were with the Hamlet Methodist and she was a member of the Philathea Class and the WSCS of the church. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Lucy Lawson of Walkerton; three grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Friends may call at the Rannells Funeral Home, Hamlet. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Hansen officiating. Burial will be in Fletcher Cemetery.
