Wilma Moody Nisbet, born November 6, 1922, peacefully made her transition on Friday morning July 8, 2011. She was an adventurer, a loving, devoted mother and grandmother, and dedicated daughter and sister. Wilma was a native Houstonian. She married and moved to Texas City, Texas where she raised her three daughters. She was an enthusiastic Girl Scout leader, garden club member and active in the Red Cross; these are a few, among many community activities she loved and participated in. Wilma was a sweet, considerate and fun loving lady, always giving to others, especially those with needs. Wilma had the opportunity to travel the world several times while broadening her education in history, politices and geography of the world. She was always the most gracious hostess and enjoyed all holidays and special events to the fullest. She loved her family with a passion and will always be remembered for her caring, kind and thoughtful nature, especially her delicious chocolate cake!

She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Alice Moody; sisters: Alice Levey and Jacqueline Brainard Harris; daughter: Suzanne Nisbet Benton; granddaughter: Amy Leigh Benton-Cioper. She is survived by her daughters: Cynthia Nisbet of Arkansas and Pamela Nisbet Gandin and husband Andre of Spring, TX, grandson: Eric Benton of Austin; in addition to numerous cousins and relatives across Texas and the U.S.

Graveside Services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Earthman Resthaven. Following the service, there will be a gathering at her daughter's home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Greater Houston Area American Red Cross, ATTN: Development, P.O. Box 397, Houston, TX 77001.
