Sarah (Ann) Adair is the wife of Bozeman Adair who is buried in Lane Cemetery, Paulding Co, Georgia. Her maiden name is unknown and unproved but many believe it is Harrington. This is mainly based on the naming of a son: Whitmill Harrington Adair. Her first name only - Sarah - is proved by church records. The dates given are unproved and no documentation has been found so far.

According to a letter written in 1857, Sarah is buried here in New Hope cemetery, in a now unmarked grave. I (Roy Adair) have not seen this letter or know to whom it was written, but it is possible the letter was discussing burying Bozeman (d. 1857) here with Sarah, or in Lane Cemetery with other Adair relatives.

If you have REAL genealogical PROOF of the surname Harrington, share it. (Ancestry trees are not proof) You can read about their children by clicking on Bozeman's link. If Harrington were to be her surname, then her birth is more likely to be in North Carolina. Many Harrington records in Montgomery Co have been lost, but there are other Harringtons in NC also.

This cemetery was once located within Carroll Co. The church, New Hope Primitive Baptist, was in Carroll Co from 1829-1967. It looks like Bozeman, his wife Sarah and a woman named Rachel Smith were the first 3 members to join/form this congregation. In January 1829 they submitted "a letter" most likely from their previous church. Is Rachel related somehow? Bozeman and Sarah lived in Madison Co on the 1820 census, were in Carroll Co in 1830 and 1840, and Bozeman (a widower) was in Paulding Co in 1850. He is buried in Lane Cemetery, Paulding Co.

Bozeman and Sarah are my 3-Greats Grandparents, and I descend through their son James Lee Adair. Roy Adair
