Beulah T. Hatch
Beulah Taggart Hatch, 85, a homemaker of Idaho Falls, died May 1, 1994, at a nursing home in Idaho Falls. She was born March 22, 1909 at Lewiston, Utah, to James and Valeria Ann Laird Taggart. She received her early education in Lewiston and earned a bachelor's degree from Utah State University.
On May 12, 1933, she married William Ray Hatch in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. She spent most of her adult life in Idaho Falls except for a period between 1955 and 1973, when her husband was an agricultural attaché for the U.S. Government in Iran, Ireland, Kenya, Washington, D.C., Australia and South Africa. Her husband died in 1983.
An active member of the LDS Church, she served as president of the Relief Society and Primary, as organist, and in the stake Relief Society presidency. Her hobbies were gardening, sewing, painting, and music.
Survivors include her children, Mary Lou Mellor of Spokane, Wash., Valeria Crapo and Sylvia Hendricks, both of Idaho Falls, B. Jane Bush of American Fork, Utah, William James Hatch of Beaverton, Ore., and Patricia Ann Hatch of Reno, Nev.; two brothers and a sister, Spencer L. Taggart and Glen L. Taggart, both of Logan, Utah, and Velma Bayles of Topeka, Kan.; 31 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Idaho Falls Pioneer Ward, 2020 S. Charlotte, with Bishop Rick Owen officiating. The family will visit with friends Tuesday for one hour before services at the church. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park under the direction of Wood Funeral Home in Idaho Falls.
