Richard Shumaker, 75, of Dalmargo Road, Butler, formerly of Kittanning, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000 at the Armstrong County Health Center, Kittanning. He was born May 4, 1925 in Phillipston, (Clarion County) to Clifford and Bessie (Merryman) Shoemaker. Mr. Shumaker was retired from the former Pullman Standard, Butler. He was a member of the Grace Brethren Church of West Kittanning. An Army veteran, he served during World War II. Survivors include two children, Richard Shumaker and Christine Capone, both of Kittanning; three stepchildren, Edward Stennett and Pamela Stennett, both of Kittanning and Karen Beers of Manorville; five grandchildren, Karri Bish, Jeromy Sigler, Ben Shumaker, Carrisa Shumaker and Chantell Shumaker; three step-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and one sister, Betty Schiovone of Warren, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Margaret “Peg” (Stouffer) Shumaker; who died in 1996. SHUMAKER – Friends of Richard Shumaker, 75, of Dalmargo Road, Butler, formerly of Kittanning, who died June 27, 2000, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Snyder-Crissman Funeral Home, Inc., A Forethought Member, 200 S. McKean St., Kittanning. Further funeral arrangements are incomplete. Arrangements by Snyder-Crissman.
