James Foster "Jim" McCormack was the son of Robert A McCormack and Mary Jane Easter McCormack Allen. He was born in the Ripley community, west of Athens, in Limestone Co, AL. His father died when he was about 2 yrs old and his mother later married Robert Helom Allen. Jim's older brother, Fletcher and his sister Nina both passed away before Mary Jane, Robert, Jim and his youngest sister, Roberta "Robbie" moved to Sheffield, AL. Jim went to work for the Southern Railroad as a car inspector and married Leighota Hovater in 1945. After retiring from the RR, Jim was appointed as City Court Judge in Sheffield. He and Leighota had 1 daughter, Carrie. Jim passed away in 1984.
